Hace unos días os contaba que me tenían que extraer una de las muelas del juicio (entrada aquí). Bueno, pues fui a mi cita con el dentista el pasado martes 8 de Abril. Estaba bastante nerviosa, ya que se trataba de mi primera extracción.

Mientras esperaba a que la primera anestesia me hiciera efecto, estuve hablando con el dentista, de como extraíamos los dientes y las muelas a los perros cuando trabajaba en la clínica en Barcelona.

Dentista: “Es habitual extraer muelas a los perros?”

Nuria: “Si están en mal estado, si que se hace. Eso si, bajo anestésia general.”

Dentista: “Claro, tú dirás”

Nuria: “Para mi lo peor, por la angustia, era el tener que tirar, ya que se les coge la muela con unas tenazas y simplemente es empezar a tirar con fuerza. “

Dentista: “Bueno, eso es precisamente lo que te voy a hacer a ti…”

Creo que mi cara fue un poema en ese momento… Me pinchó la segunda anestésia, avisándome que esta vez iba a doler un poco. Noté el pinchazo, pero fue totalmente soportable. A los dos minutos me dice, “Bueno, allá vamos”.

No dolió, os lo aseguro, pero la angustia que da notar como te arrancan una muela no tiene descripción posible. La extracción duró segundos, menos mal.

No sabía si colgar la foto de la muela, porque entiendo que hay gente aprensiva a estas cosas. Pero a mi como estas cosas me gustan (en mi trabajo mi parte favorita era el quirófano), quise conservarla como recuerdo. La raiz de la muela es alucinante porque está totalmente curvada y con forma de gancho. Estoy pensando en hacerme un collar .

Some days ago I explained in this blog about I had to go to dentist for the extraction of my wisdom tooth (read here). Well, so I went there last Tuesday, April 8th. I felt pretty nervous because it was my first extraction.

While I was waiting for the first anesthesia injection, I was talking with the doctor about how we extract teeth to dogs, in the veterinary clinic.

Doctor: “Is it normal teeth extraction in dogs?”

Nuria: “Yes, if the tooth has a bad condition, but the dog is totallt sleep with anesthesia”

Doctor: “Sure!”

Nuria: “But for me, the worst part was to take the tooth with a pincers and pull up.”

Doctor: “Really? So I will do this to your tooth today…”

My face changed in that moment… He injected the second anesthesia with an advise of pain. Yes, I felt a little bit of pain but no much. Two minutes after he said: “Here we go”.

I didn’t feel pain, really, but the anguish feeling because he is pulling up your tooth doesn’t have any description. It was only for few seconds, fortunately.

I didn’t know if I could attach the picture of my tooth because I know that some people can feel nasty about it. But I like this kind of things (remember that my favourite task in work was the operation room) so I decided to keep the tooth just as a memory. The root of my tooth is pretty interesting because has a totally curve form, like a hook. I’m thinking to make a necklace with it…
